British Columbia and Alberta: On Mountains
If it was really up to me, I would have written nothing to go along with these photographs. What words can I use to describe the magnificent mountains which I photographed while traveling through the western boarder of Alberta and the north-eastern part of British Columbia?
Mountains are magical for me. The strength I was able to borrow from them was incredible. I felt a constant field of energy surrounding me at all times when I was up in the mountains. I had an overwhelming sense of well-being. It is difficult to explain. One would have to go up in the mountains for themselves, away from all that is taught and expected of one in our societies to fully understand what I am trying to say here.
I had been away from mountains for almost twenty years. It had been way too long. There was a cry inside me to be in the mountains, to see mountains and to spend some time amongst them. I see mountains as teachers, providers and for my ancestors the Dacian people, the mountains were the place where they would retreat from invading armies. My people survived thanks to the mountains. I will forever honor any mountain and the ones which I visited in British Columbia and Alberta were simply magnificent.
I have many more photographs of mountains, lakes, rivers. I was able to capture a few times some of our animal cousins who were always around. I am thankful for everything. This last trip of mine was just perfect. It beat my expectations in many ways. As I make sense of the hundreds of photographs and the multitude of memories running through my mind, I will have more posts to follow. Western Canada is a gorgeous part of the country and I have a feeling I will have to go back there soon.
Enjoy the photographs and thank you for taking the time to do so. Cheers!
